Training and Development

Andrew has over twenty years experience as a teacher and education & training systems specialist.

 

As an instructor and teacher he taught, both junior soldiers and senior officers, subjects as diverse as Basic Skills and Human Resource Management, Current Affairs, and the Management of Training Systems. 

 

Subsequently, armed with a newly minted master’s degree from Edinburgh University, he specialised in the management of training and development across Defence.  In this role, he focused on the analysis, development and evaluation of training and development interventions.

 

Later he graduated to the MOD’s training and education policy directorate in MOD Main Building in Westminster where for 3 years he was the Defence lead on policy and practice in the field of L&D.

 

Andrew is well versed in the implementation of the Defense system's approach to training (DSAT) from both an academic and practical perspective.

The detailed analysis of working practices and new developments to understand firstly, whether or not training or education are needed, and secondly, the precise nature of the required intervention.

 

Course Design and Development

The detailed implementation of training approaches and methodologies to create meaningful training and education interventions.

 

Learning Management and Return on Investment

The ongoing interaction with trained and training personnel in order to maximise the transfer of expertise into the workplace.
